Frequently asked questions

Do non-profits get a discount?: The free tier is permanently free — no credit card, no time limit. Paid plans are priced for the non-profit sector by design: a small team can run real budgets across three organisations on Starter for $490 a year. The pricing already reflects the sector; we do not add a separate discount on top.
What counts as a "company"?: A company is one legal entity — a registered NGO, a project subsidiary, a country office with its own accounts. Most organisations have one. Multi-entity federations or networks with several country offices typically need more.
What counts as a "user"?: A user is anyone invited into your account — a finance manager, a programme officer, a country director. Read-only members and full admins both count. Users belong to the account, not individual companies, so someone who sits across three companies is still one user.
What happens if I reach my plan's limit?: We never delete data. If you hit your company or user limit, everything already in the system stays fully accessible. What is blocked is adding more — you will be prompted to upgrade or archive down to your limit first.
Can I switch plans?: Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately, prorated to the day. Downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period. If a downgrade would put you above a new limit — say you have five companies on Professional and move to Starter (three-company limit) — existing companies stay readable, but adding new ones is blocked until you archive down.
Who owns my data? Can I export it?: You do. Your budgets, transactions, payroll records, and reports are yours. You can export to Excel or PDF at any time on Starter and above. If you cancel, we will provide a full data export on request for 30 days after your subscription ends.
What if I cancel?: Cancel any time — no penalties, no locked-in contracts. Annual billing runs to the end of the paid period. Free-tier access continues indefinitely; paid features stop when the period ends.
